What's New...

LIMITED PEN SPACE & SCHEDUELING CHANGES

Due to limited pen space in the Sheep, Goat & Swine barn there have been limits placed on pen availability for ALL Market & Breeding animals.


     For Market Animals

  •  Exhibitors may bring any number of market animals to the May 17, 2026, Pre–Weigh‑In for official ear tagging & declaration.


  • Payment of the required entry fee is mandatory for Fair Weigh‑in eligibility. Animals without a paid entry fee will not be weighed. No Refunds


  • At Fair time, exhibitors may bring any eligible animal through Veterinary Check that was tagged at Pre Weigh-In.


  • When unloading at the scales, exhibitors must declare which two (2) market animals will stay on the grounds for Market Classes, per species.


  • Only the animals selected at unloading will be penned, shown, and eligible for market competition.


  • Any additional animals not selected must be taken home immediately after unloading.


     Breed Poultry Show:

  • Limit: 1 Entry Per Division, Maximum 5 Entries Per Exhibitor


     For Breeding Sheep & Goats

  • Limit: 2 Entries Per Exhibitor, Per Breed Show
  • Both Sheep Breed & Meet Goat Breed Divisions have been replaced with Wether/Dam Divisions


     For Dairy Goats

  • Limit: 1 Entry Per Class, Maximum 4 Entries per Exhibitor


     Schedule Changes: 

  • All animals must have received Vet Inspection and be on the Fairgrounds no later than noon


  • Swine Weigh-In 6-9 a.m.


  • Sheep & Market Goat Weigh-In 9 a.m.-Noon


  • All Dairy and Pack Goats to Exhibit on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m. at the Main Livestock Arena


  • Thursday Lamb Show starts an hour later in the Beef Pavilion at 9 a.m.


  • Friday Market Goat Show to start two hours later 10 a.m. in the Main Livestock Arena



IMPORTANT DATES & DEADLINES

- 10/31/25 - Replacement Heifer Ownership


- 11/3/25 - Replacement Heifer Agreement & Required Paperwork Due


- 2/2/26 - Calfhood Brucellosis & BVD-PI Deadline (if not turned in with original paperwork).


- 3/15/26 - Mandatory - Beef Weigh-In, Replacement Heifer Weigh-In , 8-10 am. & Replacement Heifer Preg Check Starting at 8:30. In order to qualify to participate in Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred Classes you must also turn in the appropriate paperwork at this time. All Independent Beef Exhibitors Paperwork & Photos Due!!


       Checklist for Market Beef:

             * 1 - YQCA's 

             * 1 - Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred form per qualifying animal (if applicable)

             * 1 - AES Form with a COPY of Bill of Sale (if applicable)

             * 1 - Exhibitor/Parent Code of Conduct per Exhibitor


       Checklist for Replacement Heifers:

             * 1-YQCA's 

             * 1 - Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred form per qualifying animal (if applicable)

             * 1 - AES Form ((if applicable) We already have a copy of your Bill of Sale)

             * 1 - Exhibitor/Parent Code of Conduct per Exhibitor


                                                    NO EXCEPTIONS!! 


FYI - Per CDFA, a Bill of Sale or Consignment (Yellow Slip) must be filled out and in the vehicle, any time cattle are transported within the State (i.e.: transporting to shows, pre-weigh and weigh-in, changing pastures, etc.). The yellow slip can be found on CDFA’s website here.


  

- 5/1/26 - All Entries Open & Fair Event Ticket Sales Open

 
 

- 5/17/26 - Mandatory - Swine, Lamb & Market Goat & Small Market Animal Pre Weigh-In & Declaration, 7-10 am. All  Independent Market Exhibitors Paperwork & Photos Due!! All remaining Market Animal Exhibitors YQCA's are Due. In order to qualify to participate in Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred Classes you must also turn in the appropriate paperwork at this time. Swine will additionally need to turn in BREEDER ACCREDITATION that you receive from the breeder where you purchased your animal from stating that the market hog is compliant with the Prop 12 Animal Confinement requirements under HSC section 25992(d) and 3 CCR section 1324.1 (a)(4). See Checklist Below.


       Checklist for Lambs, Market Goats & Small Market Animals:

             * 1 - YQCA 

             * 1 - Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred form per qualifying animal (if applicable)

             * 1 - Exhibitor/Parent Code of Conduct per Exhibitor


       Checklist for Swine

             * 1 - YQCA 

             * 1 - Local Bred/Exhibitor Bred form per qualifying animal (if applicable)

             * 1 - Exhibitor/Parent Code of Conduct per Exhibitor

             * 1 - Prop 12 Certificate, and a COPY of the Bill of Sale. Per Animal

                            * Your Bill  of Sale MUST match the Certificate *


* Proposition 12 Certificate of Compliance and a COPY of the bill of sale must be submitted for market swine at the Pre Weigh-In/Declaration date. The bill of sale serves as a primary link in the required audit trail, and must match, ensuring that the specific animal sold is traceable back to a certified, compliant pork producer. Lack of verification and mismatch of  documentation with the chain of transfer of ownership will result in an audit trail breakdown and render the animal non-compliant to Proposition 12. If audit trail is broken and does not match the animal must be sold Custom Only.

- 5/29/26 - All Livestock Entries and Returning Camping Contracts Close!!!
 

- 6/4/26 - Available Camping Spaces Open, 1st come 1st served.

 

- 6/29/26 - All Breeding Only Exhibitors & My Favorite - All Other Breeding Only Independent Breeding Exhibitors Paperwork & Photos Due!! 


                                                    NO EXCEPTIONS!!

- 7/13/26 - 7/17/26 - Replacement Heifer Sale Photos, Bios & Catalog Contracts are DUE!
 

- 7/28/26 - At the July Fair Weigh-In ALL Junior Market Animals are in Place (Except Rabbits and Breed Show Poultry).


       Fair Weigh-In Checklist:

             * Declaration of Medication Form -  Per Market Animal

             * Understanding of a Terminal Sale form - Per Market Animal

             * In addition, Beef & Replacement Heifer exhibitors will be required to present 

             a Yellow Transportation Slip & Original Bill of Sale to the Brand Inspector

             (Replacement Heifers do not require Declaration of Medication & 

             Understanding of a Terminal Sale forms).


- 7/29/26 - 7-8 am Health Inspection and Check-In for Rabbits & Cavies, Show Poultry -  Inspection & In Place.
 

- 7/29/26 - Open Livestock in Place, Check In & Vet check 3:00-5:00 p.m. - Weigh-In at 5:00 P.M.


- 7/30/26 - 8/2/26 - AMADOR COUNTY FAIR!!!

YQCA INFORMATION

All Amador County Fair Junior Livestock Exhibitors, affiliation (i.e., 4-H/Grange/FFA/Independent) age eligible to show & sell Market Animals, are required to have current Quality Assurance and Ethics Awareness training certification. The training can be completed at www.yqcaprogram.org


Proof of YQCA training is due on the following dates:

a. Market Animal Exhibitors & Replacement heifers: Designated pre-weigh dates for your species.

b. Breeding Only Animal Exhibitors:  June 29, 2026
