Wine Tasting Gala
The WINE TASTING GALA will be hosting 40 plus award winning wineries on Fri, July 25th 7 pm to 9 pm. The cost is $20 per person (21 years and older). Tickets can be purchased at the Fair's Administration Office or at the event gate.
Fair gate admission is $8 per person

Saturday, July 26 AT 2:30 pm on Picnic Hill
The Amador County Fair will accept the first 10 contestant forms for each age group (completely filled out) with the $15.00 entry fee. The deadline is Friday, July 25, 2008 at 6:00 PM. There are two age groups offered: 15 years and under and 16 years and over. Competition is for vocalists only. Duets, trios, bands, etc. are not eligible. The winner of each age category for the Amador Idol will receive $100 each and any prizes if sponsored.

    Big Easy Cash Giveaway
    The Amador County Fair is offering a substantial cash prize in their new scavenger hunt contest. Fairgoers who want to enter the contest will be asked to complete a quiz that requires them to visit the far corners of the fairgrounds to find the answers. There will be a different set of questions and clues each day
    A daily drawing will be held from the completed entry forms to select a cash winner each day. The prize on Thursday is $200, Friday it is $300, Saturday increases to $500 and the Big Easy prize on Sunday will be $1,000.
    Fair visitors can pick up an entry form at the General Store Information Center near the front gate (next to the carnival). The winning entry must have the correct answers. Any age can enter, however minors (under 18) must have their parents sign and show identification for the cash to be awarded.
    Grandstand and Arena Events
    The Grandstands and Arena will be the center of action with Flat Track Motorcycle Racing and a Motorcycle Demolition Derby on Thursday. Friday will explode with Xtremely Amped, back for the second year, featuring Extreme Motocross combined with a Rock N Roll Show. CCPRA Professional Rodeo on Saturday pits cowboys against bulls and broncs, as well as the timed skill events of team roping, calf roping and steer wrestling. One of Amador County’s favorite events is the Jackson Rotary Club’s Destruction Derby. Folks buy their tickets and line up early for this mud-flinging, crash ‘em, smash ‘em event on Sunday evening.
